We are here to help!

Unfortunately, we will no longer be able to provide AlfieCloud from 31st August 2018. Find out more.

Relevance of KS3 ALFIE questions to new KS3 specification

Given the new KS3 specification, which includes content not previously assessed through old KS3 SATs questions, are there plans for ALFIE to 'draw down' appropriate KS4 questions into their KS3 bank so that tests can be made for the new specification? It is becoming increasingly difficult to find sufficient relevant questions for the new spec.

I've noticed that testbase have already started to do this for their KS3 package.

Thanks,

John

Hi John,

The entirety of the National Tests (SATS) KS3 maths question bank found in the AlfieCloud has been reviewed, refreshed where required and mapped to the New National Curriculum (NNC).

New items have also been created by our maths expert who produced many of the original SATs items at the National Foundation of Educational Research (NfER) on behalf of QCA.

New interim Progress Tests for Key stages 1, 2 and 3 have been developed following a vanilla scheme of work (SoW). These tests can be taken as-is or edited to meet the needs of a school’s chosen SoW.

The overall result is complete coverage in NNC primary maths across years 1-6 and for secondary across year 7, 8 and 9. And because on-screen test results are collected automatically, “live standardisation” of all new items is possible to ensure they perform with the same rigour as the original items.

Thanks,

James

Great news for Maths! We don't currently have the Maths package, only Science. When will the same be happening for Secondary Science please?

Thanks,

John

Hi John,

The entirety of the National Tests (SATS) KS3 science question bank found in the AlfieCloud has been reviewed, refreshed where required and mapped to the New National Curriculum (NNC).

New items are being planned for authoring by our science experts and new interim Progress Tests for Key stages 2 and 3 will be developed following a vanilla scheme of work (SoW). These tests will be taken as-is or edited to meet the needs of a school’s chosen SoW.

The overall result will be a complete coverage in NNC primary science across years 3-6 and for secondary across year 7, 8 and 9.
